Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Junior Staff Accountant to support our accounting team. This role will focus on maintaining accurate financial records with a primary emphasis on Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and General Ledger (GL) activities. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, possess strong organizational skills, and demonstrate a willingness to solve problems in uncertain situations.
This is a primarily in-office role.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable (AR):
- Prepare and send customer invoices promptly
- Monitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding receivables
- Apply incoming payments to the appropriate accounts
- Assist with AR reconciliations and reporting
Accounts Payable (AP):
- Review and process vendor invoices for accuracy and proper approvals
- Ensure timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices
- Maintain vendor files and resolve payment discrepancies
- Support the month-end AP closing activities
General Ledger (GL):
- Assist with monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
- Help maintain the accuracy and integrity of GL accounts
- Participate in monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 0–2 years of relevant accounting experience (internships included)
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software a plus
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems, QuickBooks a plus
- Familiarity with reconciliations and basic journal entries
- Willingness to learn and take initiative
